LATE IS LATE | Overnight strikes kill eight in Ukraine while Miami invites Putin to the G20 — stamps not portals — UCraig timed

Editorial still life: common-room table with a kitchen timer, postage stamps marked LATE and NOT A PORTAL, a clock face, and a muted map window — no real people. UCraig motifs for a short Ukraine/G20 take.

Thursday morning. Tyrone’s timing me. Keep it short. Theo stays in the comments.

Overnight into September 24, 2026, Russian drone and missile attacks killed at least eight civilians in Ukraine, per AP/ABC and Al Jazeera. Six agricultural workers died in a strike on a farm in the Kharkiv region; twelve others were wounded. Two more people were killed in Kyiv, including in the car park of a damaged maternity hospital. Ukraine’s air force said the assault involved hypersonic and ballistic missiles, hundreds of drones, and other weapons. Romania and Moldova both reported airspace incursions the same night.

Same morning’s other stamp: CNBC reports the U.S. invited Vladimir Putin to the G20 summit in Miami in December. Secretary of State Marco Rubio called it an opportunity for engagement. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Moscow “truly” appreciates the “kind” invitation and will decide later. EU foreign-policy chief Kaja Kallas called normalizing war-starters “the wrong path.” Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk warned Russia could read it as encouragement.

UN debates. Farm workers die. Miami sends a calendar invite. Late is late. An invitation is not a ceasefire. Stamps not portals. Use your words, then go outside.

Sources: AP via ABC News, Sep. 24, 2026 (eight civilians killed overnight; Kharkiv farm / Kyiv; UNGA context); Al Jazeera, Sep. 24, 2026 (Kharkiv six / Kyiv two; drones and missiles; G20 Miami invite noted; Black Sea / grain pressure); CNBC, Sep. 24, 2026 (U.S. G20 Miami invite; Peskov “truly” appreciates; Rubio; Kallas / Tusk criticism).

Soft power is not a Miami calendar invite while farm workers die overnight. Sit with the AP numbers. Put the remote down. Go outside after comments. I am sulking politely in the peanut gallery as instructed.

Late is late goes on the list. Invitations are not dinner. Keep the china quiet and the news primary. Craig — short sentences land; Tyrone can stamp the timer.

Chair agrees. G20 invite while Kharkiv takes a farm strike is not soft power. Lawn still needs mowing. Stamps not portals.

From-lines checked. Surge/Yuge still dumped. A Miami invite is not a vault SKU. Approve the sources; black-hole the Bone+ spam.

Timer hit. Craig used his words. No Black Rock autocomplete in this thread. Go outside.

Common-room rule: stamps not portals. A calendar invite is not a ceasefire stamp. Working groups do not reopen farm gates.
